Step 1 – Open Your VELUX Window

Gently open your roof window so you can access the top edge of the sash (the moving part of the window).

The identification plate is not visible when the window is closed, so you will need to open it slightly to locate it.

Step 2 – Locate the Identification Plate

Once the window is open, look along the top edge of the sash. You’ll see a small metal plate or sticker fixed into the frame.

This plate contains important product details, including:

  • Model code
  • Size code
  • Additional manufacturing information

It’s usually silver, grey, or black with printed text.

Step 3 – Note Down the Window Code

On the plate, you’ll see a combination of letters and numbers.

For example:

  • GGL MK04
  • GGU CK02
  • GPL FK06

The size code (such as MK04, CK02 or FK06) is the most important part when selecting your blind. Make sure you copy it exactly as shown, including any letters.

Once you have this code, you can confidently choose the correct blind size in our calculator.

If you’re unsure or the label is worn or difficult to read, simply take a clear photo of the plate and contact us. We’ll be happy to help you confirm the correct window code before you place your order.

VELUX Opening Restrictor (ZOZ 010K) – Controlled Ventilation with Added Safety

The VELUX Opening Restrictor (ZOZ 010K) is a practical safety accessory for VELUX centre-pivot roof windows. It limits the maximum opening angle of your window, helping to prevent accidental over-opening while still allowing fresh air into the room.

This makes it particularly useful in homes with children, loft conversions or areas where additional safety reassurance is required.

Regulate Window Opening

Once installed, the restrictor allows the roof window to open for everyday ventilation but prevents it from being opened beyond a set position.

To open the window further for cleaning or full access, a special release key (ZOZ 011 – sold separately) is required.
